OREANDA-NEWS. August 14, 2009. In the near future gas and gas condensate production will increase steadily in Lebap that is stipulated by the new energy policy initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The growth in output will enable to bring new gas condensate deposits in the territory of Zaunguz Karakum and the right banks of the Amu Darya River into development. The gas condensate processing capacity will increase accordingly. As is known gas condensate is a valuable product that is in high demand on intentional markets, reported the Official website turkmenistan.gov.tm.

It is planned to put the gas-treating plant with the capacity of 170,000 tons of gas condensate a year into operation in Samandepe by the end of this year. The booster station and other facilities under construction in Nayip will contribute to increasing gas and gas condensate extraction in Zaunguz Karakum. Izmail deposit recently brought into production in the north of Lebap Velayat will promote increasing condensate extraction and production.

As is known, light oil produced from this valuable hydrocarbon material is in great demand on world market and a key article of Turkmenistan’s exports. Over the past years the country received the substantial gas condensate export earnings. During the years of independence Lebap gas industry workers have extracted over 2 million tons of gas condensate.

The gas deposits in this northern region of the country are rich in this valuable product that is produced there for more than 40 years. Today Turkmenistan processes it and exports high-quality finished products that bring good profit. 15 years ago the specialists Seydi oil refinery were the first in the CIS countries to design and apply the technology of processing gas condensate at the oil refinery units. Since then gas condensate extracted in the fields throughout Turkmenistan is processed at Seydi oil refinery.

Lebap gas industry workers – the main producers of this valuable product in the country doubled the volume of gas condensate output during the past ten years. According Lebapgazcykarys Department of the Turkmengaz State Concern the key factor of production increase was completion of the complex programmes on engineering and geological, scientific and technical, building and construction works.

The projects accomplished in the region enabled to improve the efficiency of hydrocarbon production, get a number of inactive well back on production and adopt the advanced technology of extraction of gas and gas condensate from the old deposits.
