Atomenergoproekt Conducts Tenders for Purchase of Equipment
OREANDA-NEWS. August 14, 2009. Atomenergoproekt OJSC (part of Atomenergoprom OJSC) is conducting tenders for the purchase of equipment for Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant-2 worth over 5bln RUR, reported the press-centre of Minatom.
For the moment the company is carrying out preliminary selection of companies for designing, manufacturing, delivery and mounting 10Kv switchboards, generator circuit breakers, passive heat removal systems, switch room equipment worth over 2bln RUR.
The company will give preference to suppliers whose financial, industrial and technical capacities will comply with its requirements. The preliminary offers will be examined Aug 21. The first stages will be announced afterwards.
Presently, on the basis of the results of the preliminary selections conducted on Aug 7 Atomenerrgoproekt is assessing the qualifications, financial state and industrial and technical capacities of potential suppliers. The best companies will qualify for a two-stage tender worth over 3bln RUR.
Tender procedures allow buying high quality equipment at optimal prices. The transparency of tender procedure attracts potential bidders. This offers national machine builders a real opportunity to get big contracts and thereby to improve their financial conditions.

Atomenergoproekt (Moscow) is one of the key engineering companies of Rosatom. AEP has designed most nuclear power plants in Russia, Eastern Europe and the CIS, particularly, Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in Iran and Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant in India. It is the general designer of Belene Nuclear Power Plant in Bulgaria.
On May 29 2007 Atomenergoproekt was proclaimed the general contractor of Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant-2 project. In June 2007 the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy and Atomenergoproekt signed a sate contract for the construction of the 1st and 2nd units of the plant. The 1st unit is to be launched in 2012, the 2nd one — in 2013. The total financing is 130bln RUR.
Thus, Atomenergoproekt is the first Rosatom engineering company to have won the right to build an NPP in Russia in the framework of the federal target program for the development of the nuclear power industry of Russia in 2007–2010 and -2015.
