OREANDA-NEWS. On August 10, 2009 The Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has commissioned the Economics Ministry and State Committee for Technical Regulation and Consumer Policy to elaborate a concept of building in Ukraine of laboratories for control of genetically-modified organisms within two weeks. A respective commission was given by the Head of Government during a meeting dedicated to the issues of development of grain market and its infrastructure, held within the framework of a working visit of the Prime Minister to Poltava region.

According to the Head of Government, this concept has to determine how many such laboratories are necessary in Ukraine and a schedule of their construction. The Premier considers to build the laboratories is possible under the state guarantees and these have to be in every regional centre. According to the Head of Government, a policy of use of GMO samples has to be formed.

Moreover, Yulia Tymoshenko empowered to elaborate a concept of building of 5 laboratories of soil analysis.
