OREANDA-NEWS. On August 10, 2009 The Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko considered a problem emerges nowadays to reform elevator economy of Ukraine. The Head of Government announced in the course of visiting of Rise-Maxymko agrarian enterprise in Lokhvytsky area of Poltava region.

The Premier urged national agrarians to improve quality of storing grain. According to her, Ukraine has over 24 thousand of granaries for 55 million tons of grain while it possesses certified elevators for only 30 million tons, at this, the number of enterprises that comply with the world standards can store only 15 million tons.

“The time has come to launch reform to the elevator economy,” the Head of Government emphasized and called on representatives of powerful companies to participate in this process and submit respective propositions to the Gov’t.
