OREANDA-NEWS. On 10 August 2009 was announced, that on preliminary results of the first six months the level of industrial production in Karelia has made 86% to the level of the previous year. Prime Minister of Karelia Pavel Chernov has told it at the planning meeting in the Government of republic. On the average on regions of the Northwest and Russia as a whole this parameter makes 85%.

Despite of proceeding crisis phenomena in economy, on results of July Karelia has managed to gain one more percent. As Pavel Chernov has told, positive dynamics is observed in pulp and paper industry (93% to the level of the previous year), extraction of minerals (81%) and mining (71%). Production in forestry fluctuates at the level of 87%. At the same time, a grave situation has emerged in production of aluminium, mainly, because of low sales and low production value.

According to the Ministry of Finance of Karelia, in July budget revenues of the republic have exceeded 2 billion roubles that makes 81% of the plan. Revenue of municipal formations in the same period is performed by 86%. Three regions of Karelia – Kondopoga, Lahedenpohja and Prionezhsky – have exceeded the plan.There are no arrears of wages in state-financed organisations. At the same time, municipal budgets owe enterprises of municipal sphere more than 160 million roubles for heating. According to the First Deputy Minister of Finance of Karelia Sergey Mikhailov, there is an opportunity to sink these debts, however, there's need for will and understanding of the situation by institutions of local government. Ministry of Finance and the State Committee of the RK on Reforming of Housing and Communal Services are working with them now.

At the meeting there also spoke acting head of the Territorial Department of Federal Tax Service Elena Telepneva. She has told that tax collection in Karelia is better than on the average in Russia. Elena Telepneva has also told of occurrence of a new electronic service which allows any tax bearer to check whether there he or she has any property tax debts, transport tax debts, land tax debts or individual income tax debts available on the site of the Department (http://www.r10.nalog.ru). In particular, this system allows to avoid situation when a person has a few roubles of tax debts, and not knowing about it and does not sink this debt in time. As a result – upon verification of calculations – the person has to start to enter into correspondence with the tax inspection and waste time visiting it.
