OREANDA-NEWS. On August 05, 2009 The Belarusian oil company Belorusneft earned its first dividends from extracting oil abroad. This was announced at the meeting of stockholders of the Belarusian-Venezuelan joint venture Petrolera BeloVenezolana held to analyze the results of the company’s work in 2008, BelTA learnt from the press service of Belorusneft.

The meeting was held in Venezuela. The Belarusian delegation was led by Belorusneft Director General Alexander Lyakhov. The stockholders discussed oil extraction at new oil fields that had been recently handed over to Petrolera BeloVenezolana. The new fields will increase the capacities of the joint venture at least twice. At present the company exploits a total of five oilfields.

Apart from that, the Venezuelan side started to study the proposals on the development of oil reserves in Junin 1 block prepared by the Belarusian side. After all the proposals are considered, the top managers of the Venezuelan national oil company PDVSA intend to hold a special meeting for all the interested parties to develop a unified exploitation strategy.

Belarusian-Venezuelan joint venture Petrolera BeloVenezolana extracted 690,000 tonnes of oil from Guara Este and Lago Medio deposits in 2008.
