OREANDA-NEWS. On 04 August 2009 was announced, that MMK had adopted a process for production of new S235JR steel grade cold-formed sections ordered by a German company for manufacture of road fences.

The preparatory work for launching a new product on order from the German company WELEX was done in Rolling Shop # 7. Sections with the dimensions of 180 х 150 х 33.5 х 4 mm were produced on the 2-8х100-600 mm cold-forming mill from hot rolled strip slit into narrower widths on the Shop's slitting line.

Kristian Bastian Baumert, a representative of the German TUV certification company who visited Magnitogorsk, highly praised the quality of the new type of sections produced.  This product is not the first in the line of new types of cold-formed sections, including those made from enhanced strength steel grades, like recently adopted sections intended for bridge building or girder frame blanks for trucks produced by KAMAZ and MAZ (Byelorus) truck factories.
