OREANDA-NEWS. On July 31, 2009 Air Astana aircraft serving the flight KC 305 from Almaty to Pavlodar took off from the airport of the “south capital” (Almaty) at 8 a.m. consistently with the schedule. There were 72 passengers on board. At 9.30 aircraft captain made an appropriate decision to reroute to Astana to have a cockpit brake indication checked by maintenance-services, had the aircraft continued on its original routing an engineer would have had to go to Pavlodar resulting in extended delays for more passengers. At 10.40 aircraft landed safe in Astana airport, reported the press-centre of Air Astana.

Gerhard Coetzee, Vice President Corporate Safety and Quality Assurance of Air Astana JCS: “The decision to divert was not due to safety concerns but was made on the basis of the high level of maintenance service available in Astana.”

Safety is Air Astana’s priority and the airline again in 2009 successfully completed IOSA audit (IATA Operation Safety audit). Air Astana is the only Kazakh Airline Company, judged compliant who is permitted to serve flights on the territory of EU, these are the facts that prove Air Astana to be a reliable, safe airline company.

Air Astana offer apologies to the passengers for caused inconveniences and thanks for vest confidence.
