OREANDA-NEWS. August 3, 2009. Safe City program has been initialized in the city of Ryazan. Up to 130 videocameras for monitoring are planned in addition to 20 already existing in the streets of the city. The data from the cameras and GLONASS equipment on the patrol cars are acquired in the united dispatcher center.

Private guard companies also get involved in the program. The program is intended to control the order in the city, lightning of the streets, road service, etc. Following the recommendations of the Russian Government, similar systems will appear soon in each subject of the Russian Federation.
