OREANDA-NEWS. From 28 July 2009, Ukio bankas changes interest rates on time deposits in litas, euro, US dollars and pounds sterling for both private and corporate clients. The least decrease in interest rate, from 0.25 to 1 percent, is applied to deposits placed in litas. Interest in US dollars, euro and pounds sterling drops from 1 to 1.25 percent, reported the press-centre of Ukio bankas.

Nevertheless, Ukio bankas will continue offering one of the best interests of all national commercial banks. Its clients will receive from 6 to 9.5 percent in annual interest on time deposits in litas, from 1.5 to 3.8 percent – in US dollars, and from 3.5 to 5.8 percent – in euro and pounds sterling.

Lithuania’s oldest commercial bank, Ukio bankas, marking its 20th birthday this year, continues a holiday deposit campaign “Our Birthday – Your Interest!”. During this campaign until 30 August the clients will earn yet 0.2 percent higher interest on deposits placed for a 6-month or longer period. And those who deposit LTL 10,000 or more for at least 6 months will have the chance to win additional prizes.

Also, time and savings deposits placed via the internet banking system Eta bankas for 1 to 6 months will yield 0.1 percent higher interest. 0.1 percent greater interest will be paid to seniors, participants of “Advantages of the Age” programme placing 1-6 month maturity time deposits.
