OREANDA-NEWS. July 31, 2009. One more important stage of the construction of BN-800 unit of Beloyarsk Nuclear Power Plant is over: the constructors have installed an ionization chamber complex. The system has been placed in a special niche of the reactor vault.

The construction is well underway. The turbine room of the main building has been constructed to 0 level, the walls of the steam generator room – to the level of +11.8, the reactor room – to the level of +7.8. The reactor vault has been clad to the level of +16.65. All this has been done in just two years.

Presently, the constructors are laying 7,500 cubic meters a month. The underground facilities and networks are 100% ready (tunnels, canals, water pipes, fire lines ). Presently, the constructors are planning the area surrounding the main building: they are constructing a physical protection center and safety complexes, special, administrative and other buildings and are preparing storage facilities for the equipment to be delivered to the site. Such high efficiency is due to the use of modern construction and installation technologies.

The key tasks of this year are the construction of the reactor room to the level of +16.65 and the start of the installation of the reactor shell.
