OREANDA-NEWS. July 31, 2009. Yandex now shows live traffic webcams of the busiest streets and roads in Moscow.

Around a hundred video cameras sprung up on the main junctions and highways, as well as on the approaches to the city. People on their way to work or going out of the city can now check live traffic conditions before their journeys by viewing traffic webcams on Yandex.Maps.

“We have been using video cameras to monitor traffic for quite some time,” says Marya Laufer, head of Yandex.Maps. “Now we started sending traffic information to our online service so that our users could see where the traffic is free flowing and where the cars are hardly moving.”
