OREANDA-NEWS. July 31, 2009. On August 8 - 15, 2009 in Plovdiv city (Bulgaria) XXI International Olympic Games on Informatics among schoolchildren will take place. In this momentous event also Azerbaijan national team on informatics supported by Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies, the Ministry of Education, as well by Azerfon LLC, will participate.

National team trained by famous teacher on informatics Ramin Mahmudzadeh joins most talented Azerbaijan schoolchildren keen on informatics and programming.

On July 31 meeting of general director Guido Helbich with members of national Olympic team was held. During the meeting Guido Helbich spoke about role of AZERFON company in support of professional staff in sphere of information technologies and about developments of ICT sector in Azerbaijan.

"For today ICT is announced to be a priority sector in Azerbaijan. For ensuring of competent advance of the present sector country demands high-qualified personnel. Future specialists in informatics shall be revealed among schoolchildren, they shall be cultivated interest to specialties concerning information technologies. Participation of schoolchildren in such Olympiads is of essence.

Support of AZERFON company for conduction of such events might be considered weighty stimulus in choosing future profession as programmers for thousands of Azerbaijan schoolchildren," - said general director of AZERFON.


It should be mentioned Azerbaijan participates in International Olympiad among schoolchildren since 1994. In 1996, 1997, 2004 Azerbaijan Olympic team gained bronze medals and a silver medal in 2003.
