DTEK Introduces SAP Business Solutions
OREANDA-NEWS. July 31, 2009. DTEK, the Ukrainian fuel and energy market leader, has started the process of introducing SAP software within its business. During the first stage of the roll-out, which will last until late 2010, SAP HCM (Human Capital Management) and SAP BI/BPC (Business Intelligence/Business Planning and Consolidation) solutions will be introduced at DTEK’s corporate centre, with the comprehensive SAP ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system being implemented at Pavlogradugol. The Company is planning to complete the introduction of SAP business solutions in all of its enterprises by 2013.
This is a unique project among Ukrainian businesses, both in terms of its scale and timeline. The implementation of a uniform information management system will unite DTEK’s coal mining and energy enterprises located across three regions of Ukraine. The introduction of SAP solutions will enable DTEK to tackle management tasks more efficiently, unify business processes within the DTEK Group, ensure better transparency of operations, and provide timely and reliable management reporting.
SAP’s solutions have been widely used in Central and Western Europe and their integration into DTEK’s information systems architecture has become an important aspect of the Company’s business strategy. DTEK’s decision to adopt SAP will enhance its ability to access European markets in the medium term and will bring DTEK’s management systems in line with international best practices.
Commenting on the move, Sergey Detyuk, Deputy Director on IT in DTEK said:
‘The introduction of SAP business solutions at DTEK’s enterprises is an indication of the level of maturity that the company has reached. Today, DTEK faces the task of consolidating its success, enhancing its competitive advantages, and creating a stable IT-framework to allow for further expansion of the firm.’
The Ukrainian company CONIM, together with Ernst & Young, are DTEK’s consulting partners in the SAP implementation project.
PricewaterhouseCoopers will design a project office structure for DTEK and control the quality of the project on SAP ERP implementation at Pavlogradugol from concept design to the system testing stage.
