OREANDA-NEWS. July 31, 2009. The Mozyr oil refinery calls for the abolishment of the duty on Russian oil supplied to Belarus, director general of the company Anatoly Kupriyanov said.

“There should be no special oil duty in the Union State of Belarus and Russia,” he said. The two countries are involved in creation of the trilateral Customs Union. The package of documents that will be signed should provide for the abolishment of theses duties, Anatoly Kupriyanov believes.

The customs special duty on Russian oil imported to Belarus was imposed in 2007, he reminded. Belarus supports its oil refiners through budget subsidies to compensate some part of the expenses on oil duty. “These subsidies improve the economy of the company,” Anatoly Kupriyanov said.
