OREANDA-NEWS. On 31 July 2009 was announced, that the 8th meeting of Russian-Chinese Sub-commission for Communication and IT within the Commission for the organization of meetings of the heads of Russian and Chinese governments was opened in Irkutsk as well as a Russian-Chinese seminar on telecommunication questions.

The Russian Sub-commission that will work in Irkutsk through July 24 is headed by Naum Marder, Deputy Minister of Communication and Mass Communications. The meetings are attended by Russian and Chinese experts in the area of infocommunication. The event includes meeting of working groups for cooperation in the sphere of telecommunications, efficient use of the radio-frequency spectrum and coordination of frontier radio frequencies, IT and mail service.

On the opening day Georgy Romsky, Adviser of General Director of Svyazinvest OJSC, Oleg Shirshov, Deputy General Director of Irkutsk Branch of Sibirtelecom as well as representatives of the People’s Republic of China made some reports.

“The telecommunication sphere of both countries is rapidly developing, - said representatives of the Russian delegation, - and our task is to use the potential of our countries in full”.
