OREANDA-NEWS. July 29, 2009. The Board of Directors of Aeroflot JSC has held a scheduled meeting chaired by Igor Levitin, the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

The meeting approved the Board’s schedule for the period of July 2009 through June 2010 which includes discussing and passing resolutions on the following questions: improvement of Aeroflot's development strategy and roadmap; route network development strategy for the period 2009-2011; air fleet expansion as far as 2015; implementation of the flying school establishment project; IT development for 2009–2011; current state and improvement of commercial performance; the state and outlook of subsidiaries’ operation; flight safety etc. Further, the Board members are entitled to amending the meetings agenda with urgent items not provided for in the plan.

With regards to the situation on the air transport market, the Board has approved the changed delivery schedule for new Airbus A320 aircrafts. The term for the two А320-200s has been changed from Q1 2010 to Q1 2011 and Q1 20012; the term for the three А321-200s has been changed from Q3 2010 to respectively Q1 2010 and Q3 2012.

The Board has approved the lease contract between Aeroflot and Boeing Capital Leasing Limited for two MD-11 aircrafts. Also, a decision was made on the retirement of Ilyushin-86 aircrafts after their lease term expiration. The Aeroflot JSC Board of Directors considered a progress report on the construction and launch preparation of the Sheremetyevo 3 airport (Terminal D).

The Board of Directors has appointed two new members of Aeroflot JSC Administration: Tulsky, Stanislav Georgiyevich, director of Flight Operation department, and Koldunov, Aleksandr Aleksandrovich, director of Flight Safety Department.
