OREANDA-NEWS. On 30 July 2009 was announced, that a renewed overpass above the Oktyabrskaya Railway that links the old and new parts of Zelenograd just out of Moscow is to be opened on July 30.

“The opening of this overpass is very important for Zelenograd. There has been the only link between the old and new parts of the town, Kryukovskaya Motorway, since it was closed in May 2009. It caused heavy traffic and sometimes even jams in the area,” Nataliya Yusupova, spokeswoman for the prefecture of Zelenograd, said.

The official noted that the overpass had originally been scheduled to undergo a 22-month reconstruction but the builders had completed the work in 14 months.

The 150-metre overpass has two lanes in both directions.

Besides, two pedestrian bridges over the railway line and a subway under Starokryukovsky Proezd are to be developed within the implementation of the project.
