OREANDA-NEWS. On July 30, 2009 The Government called on agrarians not to sell grain at low prices. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko announced during a Governmental hotline. According to her, in order not to afford buying up by grain traders this year’s yield of crops at low prices the Gov’t has organized uninterrupted work of Agrarian Fund: “the task of Government is not to afford groundless lowering of grain price”.

Yulia Tymoshenko noted over a complicated situation in the banking sphere agricultural enterprises appeared in hard situation. At the same time, according to her, the Gov’t cannot influence the banks so that they give credits to agricultural producers or reduce rates. “But we have prepared to the crisis and created a powerful Agrarian Fund so now we are ready to get to purchase of grain at pledged prices,” the Prime Minister urged. She added such prices amount 60% from market price.

Besides, Yulia Tymoshenko underlined by selling grain to the Agrarian Fund the agrarians don’t lose property right on it.
