OREANDA-NEWS. July 29, 2009. Finance Minister Kudrin briefed President Medvedev on the Ministry’s progress with the budget for 2010-2012. Mr Medvedev stressed the importance of the full implementation of all social programmes, despite a projected budget deficit.

Mr Kudrin reported that special attention will be paid to financing health programmes, namely the construction of new technological facilities and the fight against vascular diseases and tuberculosis.

The new budget also provides for the implementation of three new federal target programmes: the development of high-tech civilian nuclear equipment and the application of new technologies in the energy sector, the development of digital broadcasting, and financing the development of Ingushetia.
