OREANDA-NEWS. Starting from 28 July, new companies to be able to open start-up accounts in SEB over the Internet – a service they would previously have had to visit a branch of the bank to use, reported the press-centre of SEB.

“The e-start-up account that we’ve developed in cooperation with the Centre of Registers and Information Systems will allow companies to cover all of the formalities that come with starting up a company in full over the Internet, without having to come into a branch of the bank at all,” explained Riho Unt, a member of the SEB management board and the head of the Retail Banking and Technology area. “This is a big thing, because almost half of the new companies that are being founded in Estonia these days are being set up online. We will be continuing to relocate simpler bank transactions to the Internet in future, too, since our network of branches is focussing more and more on consultation services and more complex transactions.”

Previously, clients who were setting up companies online needed to go to a branch of the bank or transfer share capital to a deposit account in the Centre of Registers and Information Systems in order to open a start-up account – but an e-start-up account makes the whole process much simpler and more convenient.

Clients just need to go to the Centre of Registers and Information Systems website (www.rik.ee) and complete the documents required to set up a company, after which they are redirected to the bank, where they can then open a start-up account for their company online. After transferring their share capital, the founder of the company submits the application to the bank. If the share capital is sufficient, the bank informs the founder; the Centre of Registers and Information Systems is also automatically informed. As a result, and on the condition that everything else is in order, the company is then registered in the commercial register. The founder of the company must have an ID card for this process to be completed successfully.
