OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2009. London Stock Exchange has used the round table on Azeri business organized by the International Bank of Azerbaijan to invite local companies to the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) operated by LSE, reported the press-centre of IBA.

As John Edwards, CIS Manager has informed, during the visit to Baku the discussions have been held with Baku Stock Exchange on cooperation in development of the local capital markets and introduction of Azeri companies to international markets.

"Today only 5% of Azeri companies have interests for this, meanwhile in UK this number is not less than 20-25%. AIM is most suitable for local companies for entering the international market, with lower costs assessed at 3-6% against 18-19% for attracted loans. In our opinion there are many companies in Azerbaijan ready to enter AIM and perform the IPOs ", - J. Edwards said.
