OREANDA-NEWS. From July 21st those clients of Latvijas Krajbanka, who are also the subscribers of the mobile operator LMT and users of Okarte, have a possibility to use Online banking by using comfortable and modern passport - Mobile ID, reported the press-centre of Latvijas Krajbanka.

The Mobile ID is a tool or a passport in the electronic environment, by means of which the mobile telephone users can use electronic services offered by different institutions by means of distant certification of their identity. In order to authenticate and receive the services on the web sites of the providers of different services, the user will not have to remember anymore different password, access codes and to use various tools – the code cards and the code calculators. Hence the waste efforts are saved for people trying to memorize the combinations of passwords and codes, used in the electronic systems of different institutions. At the same time the usage of electronic services becomes easier, more comfortable and available to many people. 

The authentication and approval of the transaction in the Online banking are performed by using a 6-digit PIN code, which is known only to the holder of the Mobile ID. The Mobile ID can be used at any time of the day or the night, because the main precondition of its function is the mobile network coverage for the delivery and reception of information via sms.

From today also the clients of Krajbanka have a possibility to use the Mobile ID, and authenticate themselves in the electronic payment systems of the bank the Online banking. Just like before by registration the client will have to enter his/her Online banking client’s number and password, but the Mobile ID will substitute the code card and code calculator. The client will be able to confirm his/her identity by entering the 6-digit PIN code in his/her mobile phone upon request. Previously the client will be able to make the PIN himself/herself, by choosing the digit combination, which he/her can memorize easily.

Meanwhile only the subscribers of SIA „Latvijas Mobilais Telefons” and users of pre-paid card Okarte will be able to use the Mobile ID, but soon this service will be offered also by SIA „TELE2” and SIA „Bite Latvija”.

Those clients of Krajbanka – the users of Online banking, who want to use this service in future, will have to go to the nearest client service centre and inform the bank employee about his/her wish to use the Mobile ID in the future. The client will also have to visit the LMT client service centre to change the SIM card of his/her mobile phone. The service connection is free of charge, but for each transaction performed via the Mobile ID (for instance, authentication, payment or deposit approval) will cause the user LVL 0.05. This transaction fee will be withhold by the mobile connection operator, by adding it to the bill.
