OREANDA-NEWS. On 27 July 2009 was announced, that at the beginning of July, ASTARTA's agri-companies started harvesting of early grain crops. As of July 22, area harvested is 17.5 thousand hectares (30% from the planted area), the gross harvest is 77,6 thousand tons, average yield 4.4 tons per ha. Noteworthy that this year results exceed the previous year results. In 2008, for the same period, 42,7 thousand tons of early grain crops were harvested with an average yield of 4.2 thousand tons.

The most part of the harvest is winter wheat - 66,5 thousand tons is already harvested with an average yield of 4.6 thousand ha. At some ASTARTA's agri-companies in Poltava region, the yield reached 5.6 tons per ha. It's significantly higher than the Ukrainian average with 2.7 tons per ha (Ministry of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine data).

According to ASTARTA's agronomists, corn, sunflower, and sugar beet are in good condition.
