OREANDA-NEWS. July 24, 2009. According to preliminary data JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” transferred 513 mln. rubles as tax payments in the first half of 2009 which is by 49 % more than  in the same period of the last year.

211 mln. rub. were transferred to the local budget which is by 26% more than the same figures of 2008; 302 mln. rub. (+72%) were transferred to the federal budget. The increase of the tax payments was caused by the increase of the earnings of the company due to the change in the structure of turnover (more cargoes with the higher handling rates) and increase of the salaries of the personnel.

During the 1 half of 2009 the  average salary of the workers of the group of companies JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” grew by 20% in comparison with the same period of 2008 and amounted to 36 000 rub. In particular, salary of dockers now amounts to 41 000 rub.

In spite of negative factors of external economic environment within its policy of corporate social responsibility the group of companies takes measures which are aimed at preservation and support of personnel.

During summer period the company traditionally organizes summer vacation for employees’ children, compensating for 90% of the cost of the trip to the recreation camp “Mayak”.  This year 200 children (from 7 to 15 years old) will spend their summer vacations in this summer camp.

The company helps and supports the veterans of the war – former workers of the port. In the 1st quarter of 2009 the company transferred 2.9 mln. for these purposes.
