OREANDA-NEWS. July 24, 2009. A Croatian delegation led by Helena Kasanic, Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Croatia arrived in Ashgabat

During the visit aimed at accelerating implementation of the top level agreements reached during the recent visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Croatia the guests were received at the Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the talks, which were held in the businesslike and constructive atmosphere, the partners discussed the current condition and prospects for further development of interstate cooperation unanimously focusing on the need to work out a more effective mechanism for collaboration to implement the profound economic, resource and cultural potential of the two friendly countries. In particular, the partners characterized the exchange of delegations and joint actions including business forums and fairs as the most effective form of collaboration. The regular consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries that promoted the political dialogue that was brought up to a qualitatively new and higher level meeting mutual interests through the efforts of the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Croatia were recognized as a good opportunity to identify specific fields of bilateral partnership and exchange views on challenges and problems of the modern world.

Focusing on the significant importance of closer contacts that facilitated elaboration of the common approaches to building a platform for further intensification of mutually advantageous partnership, the partners focused on the need to hold the first meeting of the intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation as soon as possible and further update and expand the existing intergovernmental legal framework.

The discussion of the ways to intensify cooperation in the whole spectrum of strategic fields will be continued during the meetings of the Croatian delegation with the high-ranking officials of the sector of the national economy.

During the visit to Ashgabat the guests will visit the landmarks of the Turkmen capital.
