President of Belarus Supports Gifted Pupils and Students
OREANDA-NEWS. On July 21, 2009 President Alexander Lukashenko signed an Executive Order approving the decision of the council of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the Social Support of the Gifted Pupils and Students, reported the Official website president.gov.by.
Nearly Br73 million has been allocated for providing encouragement bonuses to the gifted school and university students.
In particular, monetary prizes will go to the winners of nation-wide school- and university-level Olympiads, contests, competitions, and conferences.
Monetary prizes and presidential support fund laureate lapel badges will be given to six winners of the 43rd Mendeleyev International Chemistry Olympiad held in Turkmenistan this year. Natalia Yelovik, a ninth-year student at Minsk secondary school No 22, who is one of the winners of this Olympiad, will be awarded an encouragement scholarship of Br140,000 for the period of one calendar year and a lapel badge of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the Social Support of the Gifted Pupils and Students.
