AZERFON Can Launch Rendering of 3G Services in 2009
OREANDA-NEWS. July 22, 2009. Azerbaijani mobile operator AZERFON works over active implementation of 3G “third generation” network at present.
Guido Helbich, the General Director of AZERFON said that the company builds “third generation” network now in Azerbaijan and cooperation with VODAFONE will give opportunity to take advantage of expertise of VODAFONE to implement high-speed mobile networks and development of decisions on wide-band access with attraction of leading world suppliers of technological equipment.
“Rendering of 3G services is possible during this year,” G.Helbich said.
Today Azerbaijani mobile operator AZERFON and international mobile operator VODAFONE company announced on conclusion of exclusive strategic non-stock partnership. This partnership is directed to provision to consumers of high quality services of communication and joint cooperation the sphere of technological developments.
AZERFON LLC was issued № 001512 license from 30 December 2005 of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies on provision of services of mobile communication in Azerbaijani territory. AZERFON LLC has launched its commercial activity since 21 March 2007, using its trade name Nar Mobile. Approximately 80% of Azerbaijani territory is covered by network of AZERFON. Presently, over 1.3mln subscribers use the AZERFON communication.
