OREANDA-NEWS. July 22, 2009. Representatives of foreign organizations are inspecting the execution of TACIS projects at Beloyarsk NPP.

July 20–23 2009 a group of representatives of foreign organizations are inspecting the execution of the projects carried out at Beloyarsk Nuclear Power Plant in the framework of a three-year TACIS program and stipulating replacement of water steam fittings and introduction of high speed breakers.

The experts are familiarizing themselves with the results of the work to install water steam fittings and to deliver, license and install high speed breakers. They will not only examine the reports on the acceptance, installation and adjustment of the equipment but will also visit the BN-600 reactor to see the hardware at work.

77 modern water steam valves were put into operation this spring in the framework of the program to modernize BN-600 unit. The remaining valves and high speed breakers will be installed during the next scheduled repairs.

BN-600 unit is being modernized in the framework of the program to extend the live of the unit till 2025 and to enhance its efficiency and safety.
