OREANDA-NEWS. On 21 July 2009 was announced, that Turkmenistan will festively celebrate the 14th anniversary of the state program "Saglyk" (Health). Deputy Prime Minister Hydyr Saparlyev reported on the preparation of the festive programme at a regular government meeting.

According to him, an extensive program was prepared for this occasion, which provides for the international exhibition and conference, sporting events, as well as the commissioning of several new medical centers in Ashgabat and Akhal province.

As President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted, the program "Saglyk", which was adopted in the early years of independence, "has not diminished in its importance as a document defining a strategy for the development of national health care that has significantly gained ground by quality of health services and reached the level of developed countries by technical equipment installed in modern medical-diagnostic centers."

"The construction of new health centers and medical institutions in the capital and regions will continue, and the development of national health care will always be one of the main priorities of the state," the Turkmen leader said.
