OREANDA-NEWS. July 20, 2009. The appointment, confirmed at an extraordinary general meeting on July 20, 2009, allows GAZ to draw on experience and expertise gained while holding senior positions at the world’s largest automobile companies.

Mr Andersson will focus on continuing to improve the quality of the company’s products, increasing management efficiency and ensuring the company’s long-term competitiveness.

Welcoming the appointment, Oleg Deripaska said: "Our goal is not only to survive the crisis but also to come out with new products and better quality. We expect Mr. Andersson to implement this strategy and as a working chairman he will also be responsible for day-to-day operations".
