OREANDA-NEWS. July 20, 2009. Federico Guendel, Director of the International Monitoring System Division of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) is on a working visit to the Turkmen capital. The guest was received at the Government and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and held the talks at the Seismology Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.

During the meetings the sides reaffirmed mutual interest in further mutually advantageous cooperation and exchanged views on the current condition and prospects for implementation of a joint project on seismology.

Implementation of this project illustrates the partners’ intent to enhance and intensify fruitful cooperation, which had the profound potential to further develop. By joining the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization the country demonstrates its commitment as a neutral state that pursues the policy of wide international cooperation in the interests of peace and global security.
