OREANDA-NEWS. July 17, 2009. As of 1st July 2009 four registered unemployed persons claimed per vacancy in Azerbaijan against five ones in Jan-May, four in December and three ones in September of 2008.

The State Statistical Committee reports that as of 1st July 2009 it was officially registered 44.125 unemployed (44.145 ones a month earlier), including 45.7% of women. Thus, in June 2009 the number of official unemployed persons reduced by 25 persons versus increase by 141 men in May.

For the reported period, average size of unemployment benefit received by 3,046 persons made AZN 157.8 (USD 197.25) versus AZN AZN 168.5 (USD 210.625) for 2,872 persons in May, 148.6 in April and AZN 144.5 in March.

Following 2008 average size of unemployment benefit received by 2,109 persons made AZN 137.5 (USD 167.68).

By 1st July 2009, the largest quantity of official unemployed persons (12,093 against 12,149 in June) was registered in 18 regions of Aran economic area and Baku (11,891 versus 11,704 people).

By 1st January 2009, the largest quantity of official unemployed persons (12,356) was registered in 18 regions of Aran economic area and Baku (11,169 people).

As of 1st July 2009 Azerbaijan’s employed population made 4,064,4 people with 4,325,3 able-bodied citizens versus 4,063,000 people in June with 4,324,100 able-bodied citizens.
