Institute Teploelectroproject Completed Engineering of Sochinskaya TPS
OREANDA-NEWS. July 17, 2009. Branch of JSC “Engineering Center UES” – “Institute Teploelectroproject” – completed the design of Unit 3 of second commissioning stage at Sochinskaya Combined Thermal and Power Station (TPS), installed capacity 83 MW. Currently the Institute is implementing field supervision of the power unit construction.
Project Customer is Branch of OAO “INTER RAO UES” - “Sochinskaya TPS”. “Institute Teploelectroproject” has completed, since the year 2006, the whole scope of the design work; including the development of the Approvable part of working design, provided engineering assistance for Sochinskaya TPS to obtain a positive opinion from Main State Expert review body (Glavgosexpertiza) of Russia for the Approvable part of the working design and prepared the working documentation.
Buildings and structures of the power unit 3 of Sochinskaya TPS include the main building site where containerized gas turbines are installed as open-air plants; heat recovery steam generators with a 120 m high stack installed on them; package transformers; the main building with the electrical rooms and steam turbine premises; area for SF6 insulated switchgear -220 with open installation of autotransformer; air condensing plant; gas booster compressor plant; utility lines and networks.
Within the structure of the main equipment there are two gas turbine units SGT-700 (Siemens), one steam turbine unit SST-400 (Siemens), two heat recovery steam generators (ОАО “Podolsky Machine building Plant”).
The developed design documentation takes into account the specifics of construction site for the second commissioning stage of Sochinskaya TPS – 9 points seismicity MSK scale, mountainous relief of the area, small size of site.
Sochinskaya TPS is situated in Krasnodarsky Krai. The installed capacity of the station is now 78 MW (in 2004, stage one was put into operation; it consisted of two units). TPS expansion will make it possible to augment its capacity up to 160 MW after installation of the third power unit. This is especially important in connection with the growing electric power demand of the city of Sochi and prospects of Winter Olympiad in 2014.
