RTS Released Stock Market Weekly Trading Results: July 6 - July 10

OREANDA-NEWS. On 17 July 2009 was announced, that over the week of July 6 – July 10, 2009, the RTS Index went down by 12.1% to reach 835.23 points (950.24 points as of July 3, 2009). Most of the negative impact on the Index dynamics was related to the falling prices for Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) (minus 22.9 points), Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) (minus 15.0 points) and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) (minus 11.2 points).

The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 experienced a decline closing at 813.97 points (5.68% down on 863.0 points as of July 3, 2009). Last week all the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market showed a negative trend. The largest decline was demonstrated by the power sector, with the RTS Index – Electric Utilities losing 13.11%. Significant decrease was registered in the oil & gas sector, with the RTS Index – Oil & Gas going down by 12.36%. The industrial sector experienced the slightest decline. The RTS Index – Industrial decreased by 3.4%.

For the last week the US dollar gained 2.44% against the RF rouble to reach 31.89 roubles per US dollar (31.13 as of July 3, 2009).

The total trading volume on RTS for the week July 6 – July 10, 2009 equaled USD6.1 billion (192.78 billion roubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD1,180.62 million.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD581.602 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD340.128 million and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) with a turnover of USD81.770 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 48.0%, 28.07% and 6.75% respectively.

The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of Ashinskiy metallurgical works (AMEZ) that went up by 12.5% to USD0.27, followed by ordinary shares of OJSC Uralkali (URKA) – by 2.36% to USD3.3268 and ordinary shares of JSC Irkutskenergo (IRGZ) – by 1.82% to USD0.28.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of "FGC UES ", JSC (FEES) that fell in price by 25.8% to reach USD0.0063 followed by privileged shares of Surgutneftegas (SNGSP) – by 24.0% to USD0.228 and ordinary shares of OAO Raspadskaya (RASP) – by 20.8% to USD1.98.
