Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Comes to Work in Ukraine
OREANDA-NEWS. July 15, 2009. The Government of Ukraine and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries have agreed on opening a representative office of the Japanese investor company in Ukraine. Yulia Tymoshenko, the Prime Minister of Ukraine informed after a meeting with president of the company Katsuo Tsukuda.
“A company that can boast with annual turnover of over USD 300 billion comes to work in Ukraine,” the Head of Government underlined. It is a realization of understandings achieved in the course of visit to Japan. It is a success for Ukraine.
Yulia Tymoshenko emphasized a huge amount of investments planned by the Japanese company will facilitate general modernization of the country. According to her, opening of the representative office will enable to more effectively work over strategic bilateral projects, in particular in the area of modernization of energy sector, which was agreed during the visit of Japan.
The Prime Minister stressed it is greatly important that such a powerful company starts investing into Ukraine’s economics just in the times of financial and economic turmoil: “Such steps can be taken by real friends only”.
In his turn, the president of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Katsuo Tsukuda said it is a great honour for his company to cooperate with Ukraine: “Our enterprise is deeply interested and will spare no effort to satisfy hopes pinned on us”.
