PM of Ukraine Invites SK Тelecom to Invest to Ukraine
OREANDA-NEWS. On July 16, 2009 During her official visit of the Republic of Korea the Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko met with leaders of “SK Тelecom” company. The Head of Government proposed to the powerful Korean corporation to take part in several huge investment projects in Ukraine.
According to her, these include privatization of Ukrtelecom, building of a new modern oil-processing plant and also extraction of natural gas from the shelf of the Black Sea. “Your company is known to specialize on extraction of oil and gas just from deep-water shelves. It is very important for us,” Yulia Tymoshenko emphasized. The Head of Government invited leaders of the company to attend Kyiv so that to consider concrete propositions concerning participation in the mentioned investment projects. “The Government will be accompanying them,” the Prime Minister noted.
In his turn, president of “SK Тelecom” Lee Yong Sung assured that his corporation is interested in participation in all proposed by Yulia Tymoshenko projects. “We are deeply interested in them,” he said. The Head of Government attended an exhibition hall of “SK Тelecom” corporation where she got acquainted with solutions of Korean engineers and scientists.
“SK Тelecom” corporation ranks third company in South Korea after Samsung and Hundai Motors. It deals with energy, telecommunication projects, business in oil chemical domain, logistics and services. Main assets of the company total USD 72 billion.
