OREANDA-NEWS. July 16, 2009. BP has announced the award of a grant to support economic development of the Khatinli community in the Tovuz district.

BP reports that the finances are designed for design and building of a quality fodder processing facility, introduction and application of biogas technology, community capacity building on new farming technologies and methods, etc.

“The project will be implemented by the Ganja Agribusiness Association (GABA) – a local non-governmental organization established in 1996.

The total value of the grant is UDS 226,000. In addition, GABA will provide about UDS 6,000 in support of the project and undertakes to mobilize community themselves to contribute another UDS 24,500.

The project duration is 18 months between June 2009 and December 2010.
