OREANDA-NEWS. July 16, 2009. Communication sector sales in Azerbaijan totaled USD 585.3 million for Jan-June 2009 in accord with average exchange rate for the reported period.

The State Statistical Committee informs that for Jan-June 2009 communications sector rendered services for AZN 468.3 million that is by 12.3% more versus the 2008 same month.

“The population (AZN 365.4 million or 78%) was the main consumer of rendered services that is equal to index of last year. The majority of incomes were gained from mobile communications (72.5%).” it was reported.

ICT sector sales for 2008 totaled AZN 990.5 million. Under the forecast for 2009 communications sector sales should make AZN 1.228 bn.
