Turkmenistan and Russian Federation Enhances Business Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. July 16, 2009. A delegation led by Nina Levshina, Vice Chairman of the Russian-Turkmen Business Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation is visiting the Turkmen capital during these days. The delegation represents the large companies such as RosKon, Stroygazmontazh Public Corporation, Converse-Mil JSC, InSpaceTelekom and others.
During the visit the members of the Turkmen-Russian and the Russian-Turkmen Business Councils held a regular working meeting at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan that turned into a lively exchange of views on the current condition and prospects for bilateral cooperation on a basis of its versatile potential.
The partners continued the dialogue, which had been started this spring in Moscow where the joint meeting of the bilateral business councils and the Turkmen-Russian business forum timed to the state visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Russian Federation had taken place. The meeting participants discussed the progress in implementing the agreements and the specific issues of partnership, in particular collaboration on the preparations for the CIS Agricultural Forum, which would be held in Ashgabat this autumn.
The representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Russia and the Russian-Turkmen Business Council Russian held a series of the meetings and talks at the ministries and departments of Turkmenistan and put forward the proposals on cooperation in mutual interests. In particular, the guests visited the State Concerns Turkmengaz, Turkmenneft and Turkmenhimiya, the State Agency for Hydrocarbon Resources Management and Use under the President of Turkmenistan, the Turkmengeologia State Corporation.
The opportunities to enhance mutually advantageous cooperation in the key fields were the focus of the talks at the Ministry of Oil and Gas and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Railway Transport, the Ministry of Road Transport, the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Construction Materials Industry, the Ministry of Communication and the Ashgabat Khyakimlik.
The specialists of the large Russian companies reaffirmed their willingness to expand on the very promising Turkmen market and actively collaborate in a number of the concrete project in the fuel and energy sector, potash fertilizer production, telecommunications and high technologies in particular.
