OREANDA-NEWS. On 16 July 2009 was announced, that City Hall intends to have an up-to-date multipurpose hotel complex built in the area currently occupied by Ostankino Hotel located in northeastern Moscow.

“According to the order by Moscow’s City Government, an act of the legal use of the 3.04-hectare site on 29 Botanicheskaya Street for developing a multipurpose hotel complex instead of Ostankino Hotel has been approved,” a source from City Hall said.

According to the official, the total area of the structure is designed to be 202,700 square metres, including the substructure of roughly 60,000 square metres and with 1,497 parking spaces.

Ostankino Hotel is currently open as usual and no work aimed at its redevelopment is being done.
