OREANDA-NEWS. On 15 July 2009 was announced, that despite the fact that in the beginning of 2009 there was no budget line in the state budget for reducing insurance premiums for enterprises purchasing agricultural insurance packages, Oranta has collected UAH 2.5 million for insuring the future crop for the Spring/Summer 2009 period. Voluntary crop insurance contracts were concluded to the amount of UAH 1.2 million.

As a reminder, on June 24, 2009, the Cabinet of Ukraine approved a resolution to allocate UAH 250,000 from the state budget to support agriculture. The budget money is allocated to agricultural enterprises growing sugar beet and flax if no less than 20% of cultivation area is insured for growing the plants that the government provides support for on condition that the enterprises sell no less than 20 % of their products on the agricultural market.
