OREANDA-NEWS. On 13 July 2009 was announced, that the ceremony of launching the drilling of the first gas production well under the project “Gas supply of the Kamchatka region. First stage – gas supply of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky” took place at the Nizhne-Kvakchikskoe gas condensate field (GCF) in the Sobolevo township region at the western coast of the Kamchatka region.

Representatives of the administration of Gazprom and its subsidiary companies – Gazprom invest Vostok, Burgaz, Gazprom promgaz and representatives of the administration of the Kamchatka region took part in the ceremony. 

It was highlighted that the present event is based on the large-scale organization and design preliminary work of Gazprom and its subsidiary countries.  

The launching of the first well drilling at the Nizhne-Kvakchikskoe GCF is an important step towards practical implementation of the gas supply project, which will have a significant impact on the social and economic development of not only this region, but also the Far East on the whole for several decades.

The launching of drilling works confirms the timeliness of Gazprom’s implementation of all orders of the Government of RF on development of the unified gas supply system on the Far East.
