OREANDA-NEWS. On 14 July 2009 was announced, that the Presentation of Second National Communication on United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change took place in Astana.

According to the Law "On Ratification of the Kyoto Protocol to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change" signed by the President of Republic of Kazakhstan on 26 March, 2009 the transition of investment appeal of Kazakhstan to qualitatively new form: mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol will create the real stimulus for innovative and resource-saving projects and technologies.

The Second National Communication on UN FCCC presents on-going climate change processes and forecasts of influence of climate change on key sectors of economy, measures of adaptation, results of the inventory, existing mitigation activities and scenarios of reduction of greenhouse gases emissions on МАRCАL model.

The discussion of the Kyoto Protocol mechanisms implementation was attended by the First Vice Prime-Minister of Kazakhstan Mr.U. Shukeev, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative, and representatives of state structures and international organisations.

it worth to stress, that tt 21st plenary session of Council of Foreign investors under the President of Republic of Kazakhstan which took place on 12 June 2009 the President has noticed new possibilities for Kazakhstan in the sphere of power technologies development that will allow to attract about one billion dollars of investments. The head of the state has added that it is necessary to take advantage and work mechanisms of trade in quotas in Kazakhstan.

Soon after the plenary the Department of the Kyoto Protocol was established in the Ministry of the Environment with the main task to elaborate and implement the state policy on climate change prevention and adaptation, application of mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol.
