OREANDA-NEWS. July 13, 2009. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case against the Department of Rosselkhoznadzor in the Republic of Karelia, the Arkhangelsk region and the Nenetsky Autonomous District, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The case was initiated upon a petition of "Setles" Ltd., a subsidiary of "Stora Еnso", a Finnish-Swedish timber company.

According to FAS Russia, the Department of Rosselkhoznadzor violated Part 1 Article 15 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" by sending No.11-861 Letter of 18th March 2009, which instructed the Karelia branch of "VNIIKP" Federal State Institution to issue conclusions about a quarantine phyto-sanitary condition of every lot of quarantine products to be shipped by a single means of transport. It increases material costs of economic entities and extends the execution period of the authorisation documents.

The case will be heard on 13th August 2009.
