OREANDA-NEWS. On 13 July 2009 was announced, that Astana akim I. Tasmagambetov opened 1st in Kazakhstan plant on recycling of waste tires.

"This is a hi-tech enterprise. Here we apply equipment of German company. The plant costs USD 8 mln and due to the support of bank of development we managed to realize construction of this facility during 12 months", - he said at the opening ceremony.

Introduction of such production is of great importance for both Astana and any other city.

The raw material received after recycling of tires can be used when equipping child and sport grounds, road crossings, paving flags and if adding to asphalt mix it allows increasing lifetime of roadway.

"The city is growing rapidly as well as its population. The number of cars exceeds 200 thousand and every day 242 tire centers of the city process a great number of tires. Every day this plant brings 1.5 thousand waste tires. Multiply this to 365 days and you will get a big figure. Before all this was thrown away, but now I think the problem of processing tires is almost solved", - said I. Tasmagambetov.
