OREANDA-NEWS. On 13 July 2009 was announced, that President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired an expanded-format meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat on 10 July. The meeting discussed the results of the first half of 2009, the progress in the implementation of major state programs and projects, and set targets for the further development of national economy in the near future.

Delivering a lengthy speech at the meeting that specifically focused on the development of the fuel-energy sector, the Turkmen leader noted that Turkmenistan has significant amounts of tank gas, which can be sold at the state border, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) said.

"Turkmenistan, staying committed to the principles of diversification of supply of its energy resources to the world markets, is going to use all available opportunities to participate in major international projects - such as, for example, Nabucco project, said Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
