The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated cases against several economic entities for violating Article 11 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (competition-restricting agreements and concerted actions). FAS Russia suspects that collusion between the companies in a tender for предоставление fishing grounds in the Kamchatka region.

"In 2008, the Federal Fishing Agency (Goskomrybolovstvo Russia) organised a tender, upon which Kamchatka's companies were given around 450 sea and river industrial fishing grounds for 20-year use", explains Alexander Kinev, the Head of the FAS Russia's Cartel Department. "FAS Russia received several complaints with information regarding violations of the law in organising the tender, and the Kamchatka OFAS Russia carried out an inspection.
