OREANDA-NEWS. July 09, 2009. 300 000-th Chevrolet NIVA vehicle rolled off GM-AVTOVAZ assembly line on July 3. The first Russian SUV Chevrolet NIVA was produced at GM-AVTOVAZ in September, 2002, 100 000-th vehicle – in May, 2005 and 200 000-th – in June, 2007, reported the press-centre of GM-AVTOVAZ.

Chevrolet NIVA Facelift was launched in March, 2009. As GM-AVTOVAZ Managing Director John Hanson said, “the styling from Bertone is great – more of global Chevrolet appearance”. “We are ready, - he emphasized, - to introduce to our customer the new product of better quality and we are sure that the new vehicle will be as successful as its predecessor ”.

Chevrolet NIVA sales in Russia and CIS countries are provided via dealer network that includes 133 dealers in 86 cities all over Russia and 7 dealers and 2 distributors in CIS countries. According to data provided by European Business Association in Russia, Chevrolet NIVA became the bestselling SUV in Russia in 2004-2008. And in 2006 the vehicle was recognized as “SUV of the year - 2006” in Compact SUV segment.

GM-AVTOVAZ Company was established by General Motors, AVTOVAZ and European Bank of Reconstruction and Development in 2001, and it became the first large international Joint Venture in the Russian Automotive Market.
