OREANDA-NEWS. On 09 July 2009 was announced, that VolgaTelecom closed the transaction of acquiring 100% equity stake in authorized capital of LLC Gorodskaya Telephonnaya Svyaz (LLC GTS) providing communications services in the territory of restricted access municipality of Sarov town and Satis settlement of Diveevo district of Nizhny Novgorod oblast.

On June 08, 2009 VolgaTelecom’s Board of directors made the decision of VolgaTelecom’s entering LLC GTS as a member through acquiring 100% equity stake in authorized capital of the Sarov’s operator from OJSC “Obespechenie of Russian Federal Nuclear Center - The All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics (RFNC - VNIIEF)”. On June 25, 2009 Federal Anti-Monopoly Service granted VolgaTelecom’s request of acquiring LLC GTS equity stake.

The decision of acquisition was made in accordance with the Program of the Company’s development for 2009-2013; the Program specifies the initiatives contributing to the increase in the shareholder value of VolgaTelecom’s business through economically sound integration with the assets of regional communications operators.

Total installed capacity of LLC GTS local telephony network is 33 000 lines. The company has the licenses to provide local telephony services (other than payphones), telegraphy services, communications channels lease services and dominates fixed-line communications market of Sarov town with the market share of about 80%.
